The situation:

Cougar attacks in Beacon Hills! But could they be more than animal attacks? Could they be, in fact, murders? =O

Six years previously, Stiles had helped a newly-bitten Scott cover up a string of bloody attacks--on gentle woodland creatures, no less--by disguising them as mountain lion attacks. And mountain lions, as we all know, are the same as cougars. Yes, they really are, Jackson. If the truth had gotten out that Scott was behind the attacks, he would have been sent straight to prison, and as an unregistered werewolf with no pack, he would have probably died there.

Now, the lie has finally caught up with Stiles as he tries to find a way to explain his suspicions to the authorities without revealing the crime he and Scott committed six years before--all while dealing with his developing feelings for a certain deputy. Will our hero prevail, or will the murderer continue to take the lives of the possibly-innocent denizens of Beacon Hills?!
